Two Wins in Spectacular Road Trip for CAC

On the basis of high scoring, CAC took both contests on this past weekend's road trip. In the league, the Wild Marys thumped Second City SC 7-0. Leading the scoring was Tierney's SOG and Assist for 2 points, with Nguyen's assist. That was followed by Pedro Ribeiro's assist and goal for 2 more points. Ending Saturday's run was Hamid's brilliant goalkeeping performance posting a shutout with 5 saves for another 2 points. A disheartened Second City was not able to get off the mat with their Sunday lineups to offer resistance. It was a tight affair for the Majors Cup Qualifier against Alamo City, a rematch of our league opener, but this time played in Texas. The 5-3outcome could have gone either way with the Texans having a hoard of players on Sunday after CAC had built a 5-2 lead. In the end, only 2 more points were mustered by AC and the Wild Marys boarded the train home with the win in their pocket. The Wild Marys  points came by way of Ribeiro's Goal, Tierney's SOG, Hamid's Shut-out and 5 saves, with Charlie Davies contributing an SOG, also. They were singing to the timing of the rails on the overnight trip back to Maryland!
